About Carrie Wilson Link UNSTRUNG: Keeping it Together While Falling Apart What's New - Carrie's Blog Contact Carrie

Carrie was born on February 14, 1963 in Eugene, Oregon. She attended the only Catholic high school in town, Marist, thus beginning her lifelong push and pull with Catholicism. She graduated from Oregon State University in 1981 with a degree in Elementary Education, and set out to save the world, one student at a time. She received her Masters Degree in Teaching from Lewis & Clark College in 1992.

In 1991 Carrie married her life-long love. She gave birth to their daughter in 1994, and two years later to their son, a boy with special needs and even more special gifts.

Then life happened: the death of her father, the diagnoses of first one child, then the other, her husband’s career changes, and their many moves, brought her to some sort of ending. Not the end of her marriage, not the end of her parenting, but certainly an end to life as she knew it.

In 2007, Carrie walked away from, but not out of, her roles as mother and wife and spent the summer figuring out who the hell she was. Her memoir, UNSTRUNG: Memoir of a Mended Marriage is that story.

Her brother and his Tibetan wife introduced her to Buddhism. Carrie is now at work on a memoir, Blue Twos, that threads together the loose ends of her life: spirituality and motherhood, and the search for the divine both within and beyond.
